Mary Jane Parks has over 20 years of experience in public 
utility and private energy companies in California, Australia and Canada. Ms. Parks has managed renewable energy projects and business development, working with Finavera Renewables, Inc. and AquaEnergy Group, Ltd. She was responsible for ocean projects and utility contracts, including successful negotiation of a power purchase agreement with PG&E for a utility-scale ocean wave energy facility. Her work included project management and achieving FERC licensing for the company’s Makah Bay, WA wave energy project.
Previously, Mary Jane was the American Business Manager for an Australian information technology company. In 1994, in Azusa, CA she initiated the first solar-powered, electric-car recharging station on a new construction facility. Her mentors today include numerous leaders in the US energy market. Mary Jane states that her career was launched at the LA Wastewater Division where, as an intern, she became convinced that local energy and natural resource management was key to helping save the planet. With optimism and dedication to project work, Mary Jane has had great fun in developing new projects and sectors while working in close collaboration and rapport with government officials, business and community leaders.
Mary Jane earned an AB degree from Occidental College and a Masters Degree from the University of Chicago. She is a US Coast Guard licensed mariner and serves on the Board of Holy Family Services, Los Angeles, CA.
Don Moseley is a Licensed Professional Engineer, Ret., and USCG-Licensed Captain, 100-ton. Mr. Moseley has over 25 years of government relations and market strategy experience in the energy and marine sectors in the US, Canada and Greece. Don works closely with local and regional government officials and community groups and has vast experience on State, Congressional, and local issues, particularly energy, environmental, tax and permitting issues. His engineering and construction background includes project evaluation, budgeting, scheduling, inspection, progress reporting and %-completion. Don’s expertise for Local Energy Associates also involves project oversight for local government energy projects, government and community relations, and technology reviews for solar, wind and marine technologies. Additionally, Mr. Moseley owns a sailboat charter and marine consulting business in California.
William Glassley has over 30 years of experience in geothermal research and applications. He has been involved in geothermal studies in California, New Zealand and the Faroe Islands. Dr. Glassley is the Principal for Earth System Sciences, LLC, and is the Executive Director of the California Geothermal Energy Collaborative. Previously he managed projects and research programs at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and the California Energy Commission. He is currently involved with geothermal resource assessments for low- and high-temperature applications in California. His textbook, Geothermal Energy: Renewable Energy and the Environment, to be published by Taylor and Francis, will appear in May, 2010. Dr. Glassley received his Ph.D. and M.Sc. from the University of Washington, and his B.A. from the University of California, San Diego.
